The Caspian Sea is the world's largest inland body of water, bordered by five countries including Russia, Kazakhstan and Iran. Because it sits between the Caucasus and Central Asia, it is often used as part of the boundary between Europe and Asia. Its size and saltwater character are why it carries the name "sea" even though it has no outlet to the ocean.
Fiji is an archipelago of roughly 300 islands, though only about a third of them are inhabited. The two largest, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, hold most of the population. Many of the smaller islands are coral atolls, which makes the country's geography constantly, if slowly, shaped by reef growth and erosion.
The Amazon Rainforest is often associated with Brazil, but it spreads across several countries. Guyana, in the northeast of South America, contains part of the forest, alongside Suriname, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru and others. The Amazon basin is one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth, which is why its borders matter to conservation.
Brasília became Brazil's capital in 1960, replacing Rio de Janeiro, which had held the role since colonial times. The city was purpose-built in the interior to draw development away from the coast. Egypt's capital, Cairo, sits on the Nile and is one of the largest urban areas in Africa and the Middle East, though Alexandria remains a major port and historic rival.
